Sorry about the lack of posts yesterday – I’m hammering away on some comics story proposals to pitch to publishers in the coming weeks. I’ll be sharing more info about them in the future. In the meantime, I thought you’d dig these stories:

Awesome story about a kid who asks a comics retailer, “Are you Superman?”

After moving their channel numbers, Dish Network has threatened to stop carrying AMC’s networks next month. That means no more Walking Dead and Comic Book Men (among others) for millions of people. Click here to tell Dish what you think about this.

The CBLDF gives a quick take on the mother who complained about an Alan Moore comic at a library being available for teens. (While I’d call Neonomicon one of Moore’s more “adult-oriented” comics, I’d never suggest that teenagers aren’t mature enough to handle “mature-readers” comics – after all, I happily read Elfquest, Groo, Swamp Thing, Sandman, and Hellblazer as a kid – all of which had nudity, sex, and/or “graphic” violence…)

Now that the Avengers movie killed it at the box office (with zero money going to the pre-”work for hire” 1960s-1970s Marvel creators who inspired the story), Warner Brothers is reminding everybody that it still has a bunch of superhero movies that have been in development hell. Guess they’re feeling pretty stupid ditching Avengers director Joss Whedon‘s treatment for a Wonder Woman movie…

The AP reported that four men arrested 18 months ago in Denmark were found guilty of planning a terror attack on one of the newspapers brave enough to publish the infamous “Mohammed” cartoons. The fact that there are still people in the world who are willing to murder over a drawing is maddening and horrifying.

Remember those old 1980s Dungeons & Dragons comics ads? Some kind soul has shared them all here. Many are illustrated by Bill Willingham (now best known as the writer on Fables).

IDW is releasing the complete Judge Dredd strips by Brian Bolland (one of my favorite comics artists). Here’s his hilarious final Dredd strip.

How did I miss this? Last year, Illegal Art released a new Girl Talk remix for free download. And it is DOPE.

I’ve got a few more stories bookmarked, but they’ll have to wait – back to the grind, my friends!
